The Best Cruelty-Free and Vegan Lip Balms in 2024

Vegan and cruelty-free lip balm
Find your Perfect Vegan and Cruelty-free Lip Balm

Last updated on December 10th, 2023

Cruelty-free and vegan lip balms aren’t always easy to find because they often have animal-derived ingredients such as lanolin, carmine, beeswax and squalane.

Ever since I was a small kid I’ve suffered from chapped lips and without a little relief from what seemed like a magical tin or tube in my pocket it could get out of control and I’d end up with clown lips! I’d whinge, cry and complain if I ever left the house on a day with a chill in the air without some kind of lip balm.

Anyway…I’m glad to say, these days I’m keeping my clown lips under control. But when I first started to make changes to what I’d buy I found it pretty hard to find vegan and cruelty-free lip balms. All my go-to brands were either not vegan, not cruelty-free and in many cases neither.

But, as with everything, it just takes a little time to find your way, and now I’ve realised that there’s a long list of really great vegan and cruelty-free lip balms available. And I’m going to share them with you in the hope that your life will become just a little bit easier too!

The Best Cruelty-Free and Vegan Lip Balms:

1. The Body Shop

The Body Shop has a lovely range of vegan lip balms. I’ve shared four of my favourites below they’re all made with ingredients of natural origin and are certified by The Vegan Society. Each is similar and does a great job of keeping your lips soft and nourished. My favourite is the hemp one, I love it because it doesn’t just seem to soothe my lips at the time of applying, it also makes them feel better throughout the day.
