They started to take off in Christmas 2021 and seem to still be growing in popularity.
If you’re creative enough they can work for pretty much any occasion and they’re a bunch of fun to make.
In this post, I’m going to share ideas to make a selection of different vegan grazing boxes and vegan grazing platters.
What is a vegan grazing box?
Well, a vegan grazing box is a grazing box using only vegan-friendly items, of course! But what is a grazing box in general?
A grazing box is a well-designed and beautifully laid-out box of snacking foods. Often including crackers, meats, cheeses and dips. But any type of food you like snacking on is welcome. All the foods are placed together without packets inside the box. Now, I don’t mean just thrown in the box, presentation is key!
What are vegan grazing boxes used for?
Grazing boxes are great options for gifts, picnics or generally on-the-go type situations.
But if you’re hosting a dinner party you may want to go for a vegan grazing platter or vegan grazing table.
What is a vegan grazing platter?
A vegan grazing platter is similar to a vegan grazing box but it goes on a table or a counter and is usually larger.
You can just place a wooden chopping board down and lay out all your snack and dips in a way that will wow and excite your guests.
Or if you don’t have a wooden chopping board, or a big enough one, you can use some butcher paper and lay it out on the table.

Presentation is a really important part of the process.
Having a good mix of colours and textures is a good way to make your creation pop. After all, if you go to all this effort you want them to be snap-ready!
If you’re using a box to create a vegan graze box you’ll want to use a box with a clear top so you can see what’s inside. Something like this Rectangle Shaped Presentation Gift Box.
If you’re hosting and going for a vegan grazing platter then having a raised surface will give dimension and depth. Also having pots for your breads and dips that match your theme will bring more life to the platter.
Of course, don’t forget how you place the food will make all the difference too. Fold, twist and balance wherever you can.
And remember to mix vibrant colours with dull colours. This is where fresh veggies like bell peppers, tomatoes and celery can double job, they both taste and look great!
What do you put in a vegan grazing platter?
There are so many options for your vegan grazing platter. If you want to keep it simple you can go with a mismatch of your favourite things. Or you can go with a theme like Spanish, Greek, Italian, Indian or Mexican.
Now, I wouldn’t be very helpful if I didn’t actually offer you some useful ideas, so I’m going to give you suggestions of what you could put into each type I mentioned above.
I’m going to call these vegan graze box ideas, but you can use the same ideas for vegan grazing tables or vegan grazing platters, you’ll just need more of everything!
For vegan grazing boxes, you’ll need to use food that is just as good cold as they may not be enjoyed until hours later, however with vegan grazing platters you have more flexibility as you can time things perfectly.

How to eat a vegan grazing platter?
This is the opposite of a sit-down meal. Dinner plates and cutlery is to be avoided. It’s not even a buffet either so the idea isn’t to go to the platter and fill up your plate.
It’s all about grazing. So most should be eaten by hand, with toothpicks or maybe mini forks.
It can be a super fun process – so enjoy making and eating your vegan grazing box and platter!
