The Best Vegan and Cruelty-Free Foundation Brushes in 2024

I love the feeling of doing my makeup in the morning with a brand-new foundation brush. But there’s one rule while doing it. It must always be done with a vegan and cruelty-free foundation brush.

What’s the point in trying to look my best if I can’t feel my best about doing it? 

So, over the years I’ve tried many different types of foundation brushes and during this time I’ve gone through phases where I prefer different styles of brushes. I don’t think there’s just one perfect brush because it can depend on the look you’re after, the makeup you’re using or even just your mood.

I’ve decided to make it easy for you guys by creating a list of the best vegan and cruelty-free foundation brushes. 

Ecotools are one of my favourites when it comes to vegan and cruelty-free makeup brushes.

They sell quality brushes that are cruelty-free and use recycled materials in their products and packaging. All for a crazy good price! 

This set includes 2 brushes and a palette. And I’m a big fan of both of the brushes you get in this set. The flat one is perfect for the areas you want a little extra coverage on and I use the base buffing brush to gently apply foundation to the rest of my face. 

This set also comes with a palette, you can use this to mix shades or add oil or moisturiser. And on the back, there’s a texturised side which is great for washing your brushes. Something I’m really trying to keep on top of.

This is the style of foundation brush I keep going back to, I find it gives me great coverage but still leaves me with a natural-looking finish. It is made using ultra-soft nylon bristles and the handle is made from bamboo and aluminium. And of course, it’s made free from all animal ingredients.

e.l.f is always there for us vegan folk when it comes to anything makeup related and it’s no different when it comes to finding a great vegan and cruelty-free foundation brush. 

The bristles on this brush are designed to distribute the product evenly when applying your foundation. This super soft brush has a rounded shape which is perfect for blending and leaving you with an even finish.

This super soft flat foundation brush is wonderful because it leaves you with a streak-free and even finish. It can be used wet or dry and is great for reaching into the grooves. The bristles are made from Toray fibres and the handle is made from FSC-certified birch wood and recyclable aluminium.

This flat top brush from Inika has medium-density bristles and is great for building the coverage of your foundation. It works well with both powder and liquid foundations. A little makeup goes a long way with this brush making it a great option in the search for a vegan foundation brush.

This densely packed cruelty-free and vegan brush from Nanshy allows you to easily apply mineral, liquid and cream makeup. The bristles are densely packed but it’s still super gentle on the skin. Another great thing about this brush is that it absorbs very little product meaning last waste.

The bristles are non-porous, which means they absorb less product and transfer less bacteria and dead skin cells.
