Vegan Breakfast in Birmingham – 12 Places All Vegans Should Try!

Finding a decent vegan breakfast in Birmingham isn’t a challenging task at all. And this makes me very happy indeed!
It’s an exciting time to be alive with all the vegan choices and it’s only going to keep growing. So, if finding a vegan breakfast in Birmingham is such an easy job, why would you be checking out this post?
I reckon there could be two main reasons.
- 1 – You’re new to this whole vegan thing and are after any support you can get, and if so, amazing, I’m here for you! Or
- 2 – You’re like me and get a bit stuck in a rut and keep going to the same places but today’s the day you want to mix it up.
I found I was getting bored going to the same few places that I’m familiar with, and I wanted to remind myself of all the wonderful options Birmingham has to offer. So, I set off on a hunt to find the best places for vegan breakfast in Birmingham.
The 12 Best Places for Vegan Breakfast in Birmingham:
1. Cherry Reds – John Bright St – Vegan pancakes in Birmingham!

Cherry Reds is the best spot for vegan pancakes in Birmingham!
If you’re looking for somewhere with a little quirk and a relaxing vibe then you’ve gotta head to Cherry Reds. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk from New Street Station so it’s super easy to get to if you want vegan breakfast in Birmingham city centre.
But the best bit isn’t the interesting decor and comfy seats, it’s the fact that it has so many amazing options on the menu. If you’re after a vegan breakfast in Birmingham, at Cherry Reds you can go for a full vegan breakfast, scrambled tofu on toast, a choice of vegan pancakes and loads more! 2. Ju Ju’s Cafe Birmingham – Canal Square

Ju Ju’s is a new discovery for me and I’m very excited to try all their great vegan options. They are located in a lovely spot overlooking the canal. And they have a great choice for vegans including their vegan full English, vegan hash and vegan pancakes. Take a look at their menu. If you try it before me please let me know your thoughts.

3. Slug and Lettuce – Full Vegan English Breakfast

Slug and Lettuce is a great place to enjoy a vegan breakfast over the weekend because of its chilled-out atmosphere.
If you’ve time to relax and maybe enjoy looking over the canal then head to the Slug and Lettuce in Brindlyplace. There aren’t many vegan options but they do have a full vegan English breakfast on their menu. Check out their menu.

4. Boston Tea Party

It’s a great place to go with the family as they offer plenty for everyone, including a kids’ menu. The vegan options are great too. You have a good choice of options including a large or small vegan English breakfast, granola and a bagel. The bagel is one of my top choices when I’m looking for vegan brunch in Birmingham. 5. Medicine Bakery

There are two of these in Birmingham City Centre. One is on New Street and the other is in the Mailbox. And they certainly have different vibes about them. The one on New Street is big, bright and beautiful but quite casual with a relaxed boho feel about it. Whereas the one in the Mailbox has a more upscale feel about it, which makes sense with where it is.
I’ve been to Medicine Bakery on New Street a few times recently and I’ve really enjoyed it. I like the chilled-out vibe, the mix of people and the friendly staff.
For breakfast, they have some great vegan breakfast options including an avocado tartine (open sandwich), a falafel dish, and two grilled sourdough sandwich options, the mushroom one is fab!
One of the times I visited I’d already eaten breakfast so I just went with a coffee and a vegan muffin, which was delicious! Along with the muffin, they had a few other sweet vegan options such as cookies and flapjacks.
6. All Bar One – Newhall Street

All Bar One is part of a chain of restaurants that you’ll find all around the country.
One of the perks of this place is that it doesn’t feel like a breakfast cafe, because it isn’t. It’s just as much a classy cocktail bar as it is a place to eat breakfast. So, if you’re looking for, I don’t know, say sneaky little mimosa with your vegan breakfast in Birmingham, this place is perfect!
In their Newhall Street branch, you’ll be able to enjoy a few tasty vegan options for breakfast, whether you’re looking for a healthy granola bowl or a full breakfast this is a great spot. Maybe take a few of your girls and head here for a vegan brunch – Take a look at the menu

7. Dishoom – Chamberlain Sq – Vegan Sausage Naan

Maybe Dishoom is the place for you. It’s an incredible choice for vegan Brunch in Birmingham!
This Indian restaurant has a delicious and interesting take on vegan breakfasts. With options including the vegan Bombay and vegan sausage naan roll. Oh, and they even have vegan lassis too! 8. Yorks Cafe & Coffee Roasters – Stephenson St

Yorks Cafe is an excellent choice to relax with a coffee, but not only that, they also have a couple of vegan breakfast options on their menu, including – Marrakech avocado toast and their Indian-inspired green breakfast as well as a few ready-made vegan options such as a vegan sausage roll and a panini. 9. Plant N Plate – Kings Heath
Well, here we have a fully vegan restaurant selling delicious vegan breakfast in Birmingham!
Plant N Plate is based in Kings Health and has a menu filled with tasty vegan treats!
If you end up here on your hunt for vegan breakfast in Birmingham you’re on to a winner. You can go for a large or small breakfast, a sausage or bacon sandwich, a bagel or simply just some jam on toast. All vegan of course! 10. Wetherspoons – Various Locations
Quick, cheap and pretty vegan-friendly.
That’s what you get when you go for a vegan breakfast in Wetherspoons. I know there are mixed opinions when it comes to Wetherspoons but I think it has its place. And in my opinion, they have some of the best vegan sausages around. So, if it’s breakfast time and you’re after something quick and easy, head to one of the many Wetherspoons around Birmingham for vegan sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast.
11. Cosy Club – Bennetts Hill

Cosy Club is not somewhere I would have thought about going for a vegan breakfast in Birmingham city centre! How wrong was I!! They have one of the most extensive vegan breakfast menus around! Take a look at their menu

12. Urban Cafe / Bar / Kitchen – Jewellery Quarter

A great chill-out spot in the Jewellery Quarter with big glass windows to watch the world pass by, if that’s what you’re after. And of course, they offer great vegan brunch and breakfast options too, such as their vegan brekkie, avocado on toast, vegan sausage bap and vegan pancakes. Check out their menu.
