Are Candles Vegan?

Maybe you already know or maybe this is news to you but most normal candles aren’t vegan-friendly!

So, if you pick up a candle in your local homeware store the chances are, it’s not vegan-friendly. But don’t worry I’m going to help you find some vegan and cruelty-free candles that are kinder to the planet.

Why Aren’t Candles Usually Vegan?

There can be several reasons why candles aren’t vegan-friendly, but probably the most common reason is that candles are usually made using stearic. Stearic acid is typically found in animal fats.

During the production process, stearic is used to harden the candle and it can also allow the colour to look good when it’s added.

Anyway, I’m guessing you’re not here for the science behind how candles are made., which is good, because I’m no scientist. You probably just want to know what vegan and cruelty-free candles you can buy in the UK to make your home a little cosier or to make the perfect gift for a loved one.

So, I’ve put together a list of my favourite vegan and cruelty-free candles that work for different budgets and occasions, let’s get started…

The 7 Best Vegan Candles in the UK in 2024:

First up on my list is a company that makes vegan candles that are absolutely filled to the brim with love!

Gorgeous Gower Candles have a wonderful and unique range of scents that go beyond just the timeless classics, but if that’s what you’re after they have them too.

Gorgeous Gower’s Vanilla Bean - Vegan Candle

The special thing about the candles from Gorgeous Gower Candles is that they are carefully created using ingredients that bring such depth and richness. They fill your room with individual aromas that are unlike most regular candles.
