Looking for vegan brunch or vegan breakfast in Ruzafa, Valencia? Easy peasy avocado squeezy – I’ve got the answer for you!

Many would consider going out for breakfast in any of Spain’s beautiful cities a thing of pure pleasure and joy, me included. It’s just a wonderful way to enjoy a meal outdoors before the afternoon sun strikes and hunger is taken over by thirst, especially as the summer heat becomes intense.

Finding a place to eat vegan breakfast in Ruzafa is easier than finding one in most of the other neighbourhoods in Valencia.

But let me warn you, if you’re looking for vegan options, you can’t just step in off the street to any old place and expect to find a world of possibilities. There’s a good chance they’ll offer you no more than a black coffee, or as they say – un café sin leche.

So, a little research is needed…but I guess that’s why you’re here. Let’s get started, I’m going to share with you my favourite places to eat vegan breakfast in Ruzafa, Valencia.

4 Places to get Vegan Breakfast and Brunch in Ruzafa, Valencia

1. Dulce de Leche Boutique Ruzafa – The Best Vegan Set Breakfast

Dulce de Leche Boutique is on a bustling and pretty little corner in the heart of Ruzafa.

Out front, you’ll find a cute terrace that looks out onto this popular Valencian neighbourhood. And inside you’ll find plenty of tables. It’s usually pretty busy inside but somehow the atmosphere still feels chilled.

Have a plan B though, because if you plan to go on a weekend morning it can be hard to get a seat. For good reason – it’s great!

The vegan breakfast options are either a croissant or avocado on toast. The croissants are always fresh and are topped with jam and raspberries.

They offer a set meal too, and I’ve eaten it a bunch of times. It’s made up of avocado on seeded brown toast with olive oil on the side, fresh orange juice, and a coffee – all this for about €7.

2. Café ArtySana – Come for Breakfast, Stay for Lunch

Café ArtySana is a popular place with tourists and expats. And that’s because you’ll find all sorts of cool things going on like language exchanges, groups working together on collaborative projects, and even book clubs. So, if you’re around Ruzafa take a look at what’s going on at Café ArtySana.

But you’re here to find out about their vegan breakfast, they do this well too! With plenty of vegan options on the menu, for breakfast, you can choose from tostadas, sandwiches, fruit, and smoothies. As well as dairy-free milk to go in your coffee.

3. Bluebell Coffee – For the Best Vegan Porridge

Bluebell Coffee this the top pick for true coffee lovers!

I like a good cup of coffee and it’s always a rough morning without one but I honestly know nothing of the true depth and flavours of coffee. However, if you do know your stuff, you can taste all sorts of coffee here. So, Bluebell is a great place for both vegan and non-vegan coffee lovers in Ruzafa to get their coffee-on. You can even buy some to make at home.

Another great thing about this place is that they offer some great vegan breakfast and brunch options that you don’t usually see around Ruzafa. I loved their coconut yoghurt porridge with caramelised bananas and berries. And the chia pudding is pretty special too.

4. Los Picos Café – The Best Vegan Avocado Breakfast in Valencia

Los Picos Café has a great terrace because it isn’t right next to the street like most terraces in Ruzafa.

It opens out onto a cute little communal area and shares the space with a few of the other bars and restaurants. It’s the perfect place to go and just relax or read a book with your breakfast in the morning.

This was the first place we went for breakfast after moving to Ruzafa and went back many times. This spot is a winner for avocado fans! They slice up what feels like a melon-sized avocado and pop it on toast. Then it’s drizzled with oil, black sesame seeds and salt. Finally, they add a slice of lime and some chilli flakes to the side. Who wants chilli for breakfast? I do!

If your body weight in avocado or a spoon of chilli first thing in the morning isn’t the thing for you, don’t worry there are other vegan breakfast options too. I liked the hummus sandwich and next time there’s granola I want to try too.

Oh, and if you’re looking for something simple like tostada de tomate then just keep an eye open because there are a bunch of places selling this.

Tomato on toast might sound pretty basic but I’ve had some fairly tasty ones during my time in Spain and it makes getting your hands on vegan breakfast in Valencia pretty easy. And when visiting a not-so-vegan-friendly place this can be a vegan’s saviour.
