Cafe Soya is a great stop for anyone, especially vegans, who find themselves in Birmingham city centre and fancy some tasty Asian food.

Why I Love Eating Vegan Food in Cafe Soya

Cafe Soya ain’t fancy at all. In fact, sometimes ordering a beer here feels a little overboard. But don’t take this as a bad thing. Now and again, a quick, casual meal is exactly what you’re after and then Cafe Soya is the perfect place.

Cafe Soya is located in the heart of the city. Next to lots of other Asian restaurants and cafes, you’ll find a deceivingly simple restaurant. The décor is basic, and the mood of the place is very casual. Once inside there’s no fuss. You just take a seat and you’re handed a menu. If you’re as excited as me about the long list of options, it might take a while.

Even though it isn’t a fully vegan restaurant it’s a top pick for vegans. This is because they don’t just have a little vegan section on their menu. They offer pages of amazing vegan-friendly options!

The vegan Tom Yum is SUPER-YUM at Cafe Soya

Cafe Soya has a bit of a mix when it comes to Asian food, you’ll find Thai dishes, Vietnamese dishes and Chinese dishes. So, if your friend’s in the mood for Vietnamese food and you’re after Thai food it will do the job nicely. But don’t worry, I know sometimes when a restaurant tries to be a jack-of-all-trades they don’t get anything right.

Well, I’ve been to Cafe Soya many times and I can promise that isn’t the case here at all. Cafe Soya has mastered some of the best vegan Thai food in Birmingham!

The food doesn’t usually take long. So, it’s the perfect place to go if you’re short on time but want some satisfying food. Having sampled more of their dishes than I care to say, I can honestly say I haven’t had a bad one yet. I really like their spicy veggie pineapple fried rice and their spicy chips, but my favourite is the Tom Yum soup.

So, add to all of that friendly staff and good prices and Cafe Soya is a win for vegan Thai food in Birmingham.
